Planning Your Whole Month of Science in 5 Minutes!

I am always looking for a better way to streamline planning and prep so I can leave work on time and enjoy my family time. This Summer, I created a monthly planning page that has allowed me to plan an entire month in 5 minutes!! Talk about a time and sanity saver! I love tools like this because having a plan allows me to relax and enjoy the teaching. When I don’t have to constantly worry about planning for next week, I have more time to spend with my students, doing small group sessions, and making our day fun!

My main goal with this planner was to streamline my lesson so my planning could be more efficient and more effective

As awesome as teaching is, it can seriously suck some time out of your day (and weekend). You plan, you teach, you prep, you grade, repeat… and before you know it, your day is over and you had no time for yourself or your family. That is where a simplified planning and prep system can really make a difference in your life. I love my planning system because it gives teachers like us time back in our days and weekends.

Here is a quick look at how I plan a whole month in 5 minutes:

1 – Look at your scope and sequence for the year and school calendar. First, print the calendar page and mark it up with special days and events.

Now, all you have to do is label each week with the topic/standard you want to cover. If you don’t have a scope and sequence or year at a glance. I always have them available for free here

2 – Pick a high quality standards based curriculum bundle that matches what you need to teach this year.

This allows you to take what you need for each lesson and plug it into each week. No searching or scrolling for activities. No hauling out the outdated text books that don’t engage students. I always have all printables, activities, informational texts, and formative assessments right there in my lesson sets. Every lesson set follows the format at the bottom of the planning page!!

This allows you to plan a whole month in five minutes!

If you want to piece your months together with individual lesson sets, it will take a bit longer than 5 minutes. But you can still do that in a short time, too.

The best part is that the lessons in my standards based curriculum bundles are highly rated by the thousands of teachers and schools that already use them!

Hey Teacher!

I hope you are all set up to love teaching while enjoying your own life.

I put my heart into teaching and helping other teachers rock their teaching while still getting to enjoy their life.
